PANAJI: Even after a ban of consuming liquor around a gulf of beaches to make a clean environment, now seem to be tangling as the season of tourist are at a verge of high note and a tourist are now drinking alcohol like a freaks around a site of beach leaves us with an idea that a plan has not been implemented in totality.
Even a line of security on the beach seems to show a dismal effort to stop them. IRB and an arm police department here seems to be doing nothing to prevent as the tourist here drinks a bottle like freaks and outlaw.
Considering a complaint of tourist who were caught by broken bottles while walking long side a beach, department introduced a ban and lined up IRB forces to implement the order to secure an ambiance of beach.
Though an IRB personnel are doing their job to keep a beauty regulated but it seems like department of police are doing nothing to prevent tourist to consume an alcohol.
A representative of tourist personnel has reported that IRB personnel sit and chat and avert from their duty by just fooling around at beaches.
Moment this correspondent inspect Calangute beach, he rarely found any IRB personnel doing their job as some were sitting in a cabin and other were lying down the site and correspondent also found that tourist were still sipping a bottle of alcohol.
IRB commandant SP Vishram Borkar, when contacted, said "Where is the order? Show me?" His reaction came after he was briefed about the alleged negligence of duty on the part of his force.
It is reported that the Personnel inspecting a beach are not so strict. As the ban was called on the month of April, department is yet to put up a board that declares a beach as a no drinking zone.
Tourism deputy director Pamela Mascarenhas, however, said that they have not seen any tourist drinking at the site of beach and such complaint has not been registered and if any such incident is found happening at a site of beach a strict action will be taken.
