Dieting Tips for Holiday Season

It’s officially November, which means the holiday season is upon us. Shops and stores are stocking up on anything and everything pumpkin spice, peppermint, gingerbread and candy cane flavored.

You’ve worked hard all year for that healthy body and you’re worried that you’ll have to go on an extra strict diet to ensure you don’t gain a few extra pounds this holiday season.
Well fear not, you don’t have to go on some crazy diet to stay healthy and fit.

Being a fellow foodie myself (I am guilty of eating too many of my aunts cream-cheese filled cornbread muffins), I have compiled a few tips and tricks to help you come out victorious in this battle against the holiday feast.

1. Don’t deprive yourself from food all day while anxiously awaiting the big holiday meal. Have smaller meals throughout the day so that you don’t completely throw off your metabolism. This might also help you eat a little less than you would have otherwise.

2. Sit away from basket full of bread; so that you will not get tempted to enjoy those loaves more than what you usually eat.

3. Enjoy your food slowly.  It is not going to walk out of your plate.

4.  Self Control is Key. This festival season or holiday season you would love to go for extra dinner or party and you feel like eating whatever   you come across in the party. Have control over yourself and this would add more benefits to your health.

5. Try to add more veggies to your diet. This would not only balance your meal, but would also make you healthier.

6.  Don’t escape your workout routine. It will be better, if you get along with your family to play football or soccer game.

7.  If you are planning to travel outside, plan ahead. Check out the nearby places, run, jog or even you can go for walk. Whatever activities you do for exercise would benefit you.

8. Lastly, don’t forget to enjoy the moments with your friends and dear ones. It is the time to celebrate, so don’t be hard on yourself.

These are some of the things you need to consider to remain on track and enjoy the holiday with full of joy and ecstasy.  If you have any other tips and tricks with you, feel free to share with us. Enjoy holidays, cheers!
